After breakfast, get ready for the cave and mangrove research excursion. A large mangrove forest is on the northeastern shore of Langkawi, behind Tanjung Rhu beach. Given that the island's forest is surrounded by cliff-like stone outcroppings, a boat trip through it is a very fascinating tour. There is an abundance of wildlife to be observed in addition to the beautiful surroundings. Start at the Tanjung Rhu dock, and your voyage will take you through several mangrove-lined rivers, past a cave, and into a broader bay where you will witness large boats from all over the world anchored in a secure area.
